Navy Federal Credit Union - Electronic banking - NOT NFCU

For god's sake it 2020. Electronic banking should be easy.

It should be rare that a customer has to call support to correct a system problem. For me it is nearly EVERY MONTH and for exactly the same reason. And it's been over a year and NFCU cannot fix their system problem. Here it is: went to pay my NFCU credit card by transfer of money from my checking account.

I try to do this because electronic banking is supposed to be convenient. Not the case here. I get an error message when I attempt to schedule the transfer from checking to credit card in the future (talking 15-days in the future). Get an error message almost every time that there is a system problem and to contact NFCU support.

The fix is always the same - the NFCU rep resets something in the system and I can make the transfer. Here is the suggested solution consistently given to me by every NFCU rep I've talked to - "just do the transfer on the day it's due.". Are they out-of-their minds? Where is the convenience of online banking if I have to do it on an exact schedule just because NFCU can't figure out how to solve their system problem.

This has been going on forever. Just about everything I do is online and although problems do occur that are typically one-time and fixed. Not with NFCU IT department. It consistently goes on and on without resolution with NFCU being happy with the workaround to place the burden on the customer to 'fix' NFCU system problem by eliminating the incentive of convenience for their online customers.

My resolution for 2020 - if NFCU can't fix this problem I'm gone. But my guess is NFCU would be ok with that.
